Your guide will take you on an exciting journey through time, revealing the history, anecdotes and secrets kept in this wonderful city. From the still visible traces of the Roman foundation of the city (in 59 BC), in the Middle Ages, up to the glorious Renaissance, a period in which Florence was ruled by the powerful Medici family. Your discovery will start with the ancient Medici Family District.  Along the heart of Florence, you will also walk along the same narrow streets where the Medici' walked, touching the stones used to build their residences and you will see the same monuments that they were used to see every day: the first example of building is Palazzo Medici Riccardi, their first residence in San Lorenzo district, where you can find as well their Church and mausoleum-Medici Chapels. A few steps away you will reach then the amazing complex of monuments that characterise the religious centre of Florence: the Cathedral with its incredible Brunelleschi dome, the Baptistery of San Giovanni with the Porta del Paradiso (Gates of Paradise) and the elegant Giotto bell tower, the loveliest in all of Italy.

The walk continues along  the medieval area with Dante's House and the lively Via Calzaioli in the heart of the city, where you can admire the imposing and singular Orsanmichele Church, a masterpiece of Florentine gothic art, decorated with shrines with statues of the patron saints of the powerful medieval trade guilds. Then we reach the bustling Mercato della Paglia (Straw Market): don’t forget to rub the nose of the famous "porcellino" (pig) and toss a coin into the fountain to bring you good luck!

We arrive then in Piazza Signoria, one of the most beautiful squares in the world and the political centre of the city. In this true “outdoor museum”, you’ll be amazed as you admire the beautiful Fountain of Neptune with the marvellous and imposing marble statue by Ammannati and then, looking around, the sculptural masterpieces of the Loggia dei Lanzi, including the Cellini’s Perseus and the Gianbologna’s Rape of the Sabines. Dominating all this is the majestic Palazzo Vecchio with its crenellated Arnolfo tower, one of the most famous symbols of Florence. You will be able to visit the courtjard by Michelozzo and to admire the Palace in all its magnificence.

Continuing on, you can admire the romantic, picturesque Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in Florence, with its renowned jewellery shops.

PLUS: in addition to the guided tour, you can also enjoy an audio guide provided by the APP included in the tour price. In this way you can explore other aspects of the city on your own and in total freedom by following the thematic itineraries available on the app, including "Florence as seen by Dante" dedicated to the great poet who was born in this city and lived until his exile.

A special way to visit Florence
Luke Powell, 09/2020

What a special way to visit a new place! The app is really easy to use and it allowed us to track the guide. We joined the first part of the itinerary with the guide, a passionate young lady who spoke a very good English, then we decided to continue our discovery on our own.

The commentaries on the app are very well done, they go into the details so it was very interesting to discover the city independently.

Non la classica visita guidata
Lidia Canale, 10/2020

Amazing days in Florence
Amanda Sweeney, 09/2020

We went to Florence a couple of days and we bought this tour which was really nice. We had an app on our mobile phones and we could visit the city on our own, by listening to the commentaries recorded or by finding the guide who was doing the guided tour around the city. We had never heard something like this before and we found it so brilliant! We met the guide in the afternoon, after having visited a part of Florence on our own. He was so kind and passionate. He told us about the Medici Family, their story, their residences and dinasty and much more. The second day we did the same, by following the other itinerary (there are two) and we met another guide, a young lady graduated in Art History, moved to Florence from Sicily for the love she has for Renaissance. We learnt a lot without any full immersion but in total freedom.
