A comprehensive experience in one of the most fascinating areas of Tuscany, known all over the world for its wine and its countryside of unrivalled charm, where woods alternate with vineyards and olive groves, in a landscape dotted with Romanesque parish churches, farmhouses, villas and castles of rare beauty. The first stop of the tour is in the heart of the Florentine Chianti Classico, in a small cozy Winery. Here, guided by the owner, you will discover the secrets of winemaking and enjoy a delicious tasting of the best wines produced, accompanied by local products. The tour continues then to the picturesque medieval village of Greve, birthplace of the famous navigator Giovanni da Verrazzano, where every year takes place the most important wine fair of the Chianti region. Here we will have free time to admire the famous main square of the ancient "market" with its characteristic arcades and to browse through the local artisan shops. Moving along the historical "Via Chiantigiana", you will cross the Sienese Chianti Classico area, admiring the breathtaking views of the rolling hills that made so famous this part of Tuscany, before to reach a family-run Winery, which stands out for the excellent quality of its wines. Here you will be warmly welcomed by its passionate winemaker and after the guided tour of the cellars and the lovely aromatic garden, a delicious tasting of four different wines and local products will be waiting for you. The last stop of the Tour is Castellina(*), a fortified hilltop village of Etruscan origin, among the most lively and picturesque of Chianti, characterized by an imposing fortress: here, walking through the picturesque medieval covered street "Via delle Volte", the tour leader will guide us to discover the charming historical center and its picturesque houses, squares and shops.

For wine lovers
Nancy Stephenson, 02/2020
If you are a wine lover this is the perfect tour for you! I joined this tour with my boyfriend and we really loved it! We have visited a lot of wine farms, we have been also to Bordeaux in France but this tour is the best one we have made. 4 different wines in each winery, with tastings of typical products and a lot of new interesting tips.
Lovely tour for my family

This tour was truly my family's favorite. We enjoyed the lessons on olive oil and wine tasting in each winery. Our guide was very knowledgeable and taught us much about the Chianti Classico before we even arrived in the places. The people in the wineries were very informative and told us a lot about the winemaking procedure.
Excellent tour

"This was an excellent tour, definitely worth doing! The tour guide was absolutely brilliant. They were very clear, funny and interesting. We bought a number of bottles of wine from the tour to bring back with us. It was very impressive."
Wonderful relaxing afternoon

My daughter and I had so much fun on this tour. We loved our guide, Elena, and her quirky sense of humor. She explained all about Chianti country and the different kinds of wines, and even pointed out the interesting sights during our bus ride. Both vineyards we visited were very scenic and the presenters informative. We sampled 3 or 4 wines as well as olive oil at each. The samples were small but reasonable, so you shouldn't get drunk off them. Our only real criticism was that the meat and cheese snacks provided were too sparse for our large group. Luckily, we ordered the medium meat and cheese platter from the butcher shop in Greve, which turned out to be one of our most memorable meals in Italy. Both vineyards rely on direct purchases and will ship to your home. The first was very reasonably priced, the second offered more premium priced products. All of them were very good in our opinion. If your plan is to get drunk, you probably either want one of the more expensive wine tours, or supplement your intake in Greve. If you're looking for a fabulous afternoon of wine tasting, scenery, and fun, I highly recommend this tour.

Tour was informative and fun. Tour guide was entertaining and the wineries were very hospitable. I would do it again next time I am in Florence.
